mi neva was too keen on the housemaidish quality to the traditional jamaican costume. even the whole indian "madras" thing - so colonial.

mi love the madras plaid though, when it and white are used in style. i'd love to see a jamaican fashion designer take
break new ground with traditional design and put forward a national costume that is less slavery-reminding.
