oh..i have lots of new growth but i just brush it , and pin it up

or braid it up (except in the summer when me caan tek nutten in mi head sake a the heat)

The black stylists dem stupid - what they need to do is incorporate the dominican techniques into dem repertoire and if a customer insists on having it just give it to them. Everyone in this economy is learning how to be flexible, they should too. and yes why it take so long there???

When it comes to blowing I will never go to anyone but the dominicans - sorry... but when I used to go to the black salons and ask them to blow my hair - dem woulda mek up dem face an huff an puff and conplain bout how mi hair long and thick and it ah go tek to much work... some ah dem too dam lazy - dem only want fling een weave inna people hair or just rake it wid de comb blowdryer and use the curling iron which in my opinion is just as damaging to the hair.

You just have to make sure yuh do yuh deep condition regularly and use a heat protectant while blowdrying or using any heat product.

Dem can eeda siddung an complain an get lef or do like the woman inna de story and adapt.

every 4-6 weeks is excessive and not really necessary. I do 2-4 times a year, depending on how often I have the time to go. last time was in december.

i find that the older women become(wiser and more mature), the more comfortable they are with the length of time between touchups.

is a lot of young people mi see doing it so often

What? I used to get mine done every 4 weeks without fail. I did once have a friend in high school who told me my hair didn't look like it needed to be relaxed. My response was it never will. (We see how that worked out lol) </div></div>

as for the hair thing am so glad I just wash,condition and blowdry to get out the curls or leave it curly that would be a stress to sit inna hair salon for so many hours.

this is actually true I will go to them for a perm but i will not let them near my hair with no blowdryer I blow it out my self but now I have a jamaican lady and when she nuh available I go to my haitian sista and between the two of them they got the hair lookn right.

so true and pon tap a dat dem love fi tell u seh u hair need relax when it doesnt..

I would not trust a dominican with a pair of scissors in my hair for anything other than a trim but fi conditioning and the wash/blowout ting not a problem

I have also found the hairdressers who really make my hair look great happen to be male. My current hairdresser is a guy and he is spot on
