why don't more people (including me) embrace their gray hairs? i've been putting this dyam red sitt'n inna mi head for about three years now and man it's tiring. not to mention i had to change my whole suite of sheets for my bed to oranges and burgundies [img]/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img]

I'm not there yet..but i think i'll fight the grey hair dem kicking and screaming if necessary.



I see some women that have a full head of grey hair and it complements their features....but grey just ain't my colour [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]...

yeh, i see black women with the iron gray and somehow it seems to soften up their features.

anyway, the last time i did mine was december and my roots are in, so mi haffi goh dash two pack in deh tinnite if mi wah go out satdeh [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

i have more gray all the time....didn't really phase me so much until i heard one of my younger friends describe me as the gal with the salt and peppah hair.

sheesh...truly tho...the only place i feel my age...is in my hair.

Sue, my sister is younger than me and she has lots of gray hair. I wonder why that happens since we share the same genes? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] I'm not complaining though!

stress? about five years ago when my oldest was giving me a really warm time, all of a sudden a patch of gray just developed right inna di front a mi head [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

it's that part of us that wants to be forever young...
especially north american culture is so youth-oriented, you would think older people are just ready to be tossed out like yesterday's trash...but gray hair tells a story; there's something to be said for having reached the status of an elder...some wern't fortunate enough to make it there...

This is a subject I can warm too. Mi fought the gray, mi dyed, mi permed, mi dyed and permed, mi hair went bad. Mi gave up dying and perming. Grey all about the head. Yes, it is a major change in how you see yourself and how others see you as well. Heads no longer turn or seldom turn in your direction because of the grey hair. It was a major shift in my thinking and of how I saw myself. And........people are often unkind in how they speak of people with grey hair. But I have embraced it now and wear it proudly. But it was a journey to get here [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

I have a few. But as I dont care for my boring dark brown hair it is nicely covered up with medium brown hair rinse.

Sue I hear ya on the colored sheets.. For me I saw it on the towels after I went to the dominicans to color my hair \o/
