This is a discussion board. I am free to discuss and vent about any issue that concerns me as long as it is within board rules. I feel that people should dress with some degree of modesty. I guess that makes me a horrible person.

Couldnt agree with you more... who ever said it made you a horrible person?? i didn't see that comment...

anything is up for discussion or observation...

im equally fasicnated by how people dress.. carry themselves.. when im in NYC i can sit on a wall in the nicer seasons.. and just people watch.. what a parade.. cast of characters........ we all are inclined to like and dislike many styles...... i actually dont like the slutty look either.. so im not disagreeing with you at all....just think people have a right as in most things.. to choose what they wear... as long as they are not hurting anyone else........... in highschool girls could not show their bellies... wonder if there are any dress code rules for a college classroom?

Sorry, my mistake again. Didn`t see until a 2nd read where you questioned Tropi`s insinuation that we think her a horrible person.
Actually I think her to be a wonderful woman that comes up front like you do and doesn`t bury her head in the sand as the proverbial ostrich.

If it has anything to do with a profession or professional nature clearly your classmates won't get far as career women.

The place where I am working has a great number of employees clad in a similar fashion... and it just is not suited for the environment. The 'casual' styles you have illustrated as exactly that.... 'casual', and not meant for business environments other than clothing stores which feature those styles.

The same would go for the young men wearing their pants half way between butt and kneecap.

Sad part is that the young people are conditioned by their peers and marketers to focus on cute and stylish as opposed to learning and applying standards of what is appropriate attire.

It's not a business course. It does seem that some people have completely lost touch with what's appropriate in terms of dress. A tank top WITHOUT THE NIPPLE SHOWING [img]/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] is fine for a summer day but inna de miggle a wintah!!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] I can understand a crop top at the beach as a bathing suit cover but in the city or worse at a place of business or even a bank [img]/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] can't see it. There is a teller at a bank branch I go to regularly..between the sequences and the cleavage you would think she was working at a lap dancing parlour not a bank.
