What we need to do is wrap our [/b]heads[/b] around finding ways to evolve, curl up wid books, cut out di nonsense and straighten out wi stereotypical thoughts, ways and insecurities.

I've never liked the terms "nappy" or "kinky" myself.
Every race has something distinct and unique: for southeast asians, it's their eyes, for whites their eye colours and for us Africans; our hair.
we cant say our colour because there are others who have the same and sometimes darker colouring.

Of the three races I mentioned above, whites seem to be the only ones who've embraced what makes them unique(maybe because they've set about telling others their features are crap in comparison). Asians are told they're 'blind' or can barely see, and sometimes you see asians surgically reshape their eyes and wear colour contacts. Blacks call their hair "nappy" and "kinky". My 12 year old male cousin once said to me "you know that we have the best hair?" I said "yeah?" and he said "we can do so much with our hair and everyone else have to only colour or cut theirs". He made sence.
Right now I'm wearing extentions because I'm trying to keep my hair chemical free till it grows long enough to lock nicely. I've always liked this hair I was born with and there is nothing "nappy or kinky" about it.

I understand the issues but they need not be issues if dem falla what ICE seh.

Curl up with some good books and lock down di feelings that the hair ting is really an issue.

Similarly ...same way mi feel about the obsession with looks. Praise the Lord if you look good..thank Him also...but mekk yu inside be as pretty as yu outside.
