When I was younger, they were known as 'prostitute chains' and we were never even allowed to brush up against them. I still can't bring myself to having one near me. How will one enhance my footwear?

Oh Lord no! I'm not a wild child. I went as far as piercing my ears three times on each side and that's it. I'm not an accessories type of gal. I wanted for the longest time to get a belly ring and the thought of some loose thread from my jeans getting caught on it makes me queasy.
The best thing is to have polished toenails and just as simple as that, you will look great. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

It's something I have been thinking about...because everybody and dem auntie seem to wear these anklets...like...how could something with base connotations take over as... trendy?

did that connotation exist in all cultures? I have a very nice one that an Indian gentleman friend gave to me..I think Indian women (not prostitutes) wore them as decorations..I don't have a problem wearing them..I'm just lazy about jewelry..I can barely keep track of my earrings [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Mind you, I do like things Eastern but I have no idea what the meaning of the anklet is in the Eastern culture...belly dancers et al?
