I saw some recipes for homemade deep conditioners on a French West Indian web site which call for rum. I've never heard of using rum on the hair before - is that done in Jamaica or any other English speaking island?
Here are the recipes for the adventurous.
Nourishing Treatment for Weak Hair
Ingredients:
- 2 whole eggs (yolks and whites)
- 1 tablespoon of virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons dark rum
Whisk ingredients together. Apply to hair and leave for at least 15 min. Rince.
For Dry Hair
Mix castor oil with just enough dark rum to thin the oil. Apply evenly to hair and style.
So what effect does rum have on hair, I wonder?
