Lipstick help

Ok, need some help.

Never worn lipstick before....but now I want to try the red color.

Can anyone recommend a brand or color that would look good on black skin. Mi nuh waan fayva clown

Is not just the skin tone, but you need to figure out your skin undertone.

Yellow undertone etc because that will affect how he lipstick looks on you (as opposed to smaddy else that "may" have the same skintone as you.

Stop by sephora or a qualified color smaddy that can tell you what your undertone is

Lawd dat soun like too much work. Yuh cyaan jus drop couple color name an ting?

I was thinking about doing one of those makeup/over things at a Mac counter...will see how I feel in couple weeks.

Sorry mi nuh know of any. I don't wear red for the same reason as you. It's a difficult color to pull off if it's not the right shade.

Me'd haffi wuk out mi soulcase fi guh find one shade and mi can't badda.

Mi stick to mac lipglass, nude lips, or sheer color

IMO MAC lipsticks aren't the greatest quality. MAC is silky, but the color rubs off quick, at the prices they charge, it should last longer.

I prefer Clinique and Estee Lauder lipsticks. Silky and long lasting. But as already suggested, go to the cosmetics dept and try them on in the store. Pick the one you think looks good.

I agree about MAC Peps - I don;t use their lipsticks - I like Revlon...
Bizi what I do most times is use a lipliner (I like Rimmel colors) and after I line the lips I sort of smear it over the entire lip and use a lip gloss over that to give it a little shine
I like the lip glass line from Revlon too - they have just a hint of color nice for Spring time.

The other day I tried a lip stain because I was curious. Loved it

I tried Maybelline ColorSensational LipStain but looking at other lip stain recommendations from Sephora.
