that's big time producer Harvey Weinstein and his wife Georgina Chapman, who owns the Marchesa brand - the designer for Michelle Obama's dress, btw. Michelle adapted the original design, here it is:

yes mi know that is the dress intention, but it still sheg up at the top

all of her other off the shoulder dresses fall right and fit right except this one

the ruching/pleating get sheg mi cannot put mi finger on why it nuh look righted

makes her look like she aint got tits. and it liff up lickle on her tummy. ETA plus the ruching put her boobs a little too close together.

loving her physique, tho i wish she would straighten her shoulders.

a-HA! that one i didn't reckanize is British actor <span style="font-style: italic">Damien Lewis</span>; right now he's in an American tv show called "Homeland". i read inna UK newspaper article that's POTUS favorite tv show.... (of course i don't know if that's really true or not)

i also don't like the re-working of the original dress design - the way Michelle is wearing it makes it look like the top doesn't 'go' with the bottom. the original flowed nicely, but FLOTUS version just nah work for me; cutting off the bustle part kinda ruins the whole flow of the garment.

but what i really wanna know is..... WHY so much a actor and actress get invited to a White House "state" dinner? Is what actors have to do with "affairs of state" - ?

well yeh - many of the actors that were invited are British - Damien Lewis, Liz McGovern husband are too.
Regardless of nationality, actors & entertainers still don't have anything to do with government or "affairs of state" - (??)

i think these kind of affairs are about business interests, and the entertainment industry tends to be one of the biggest in terms of business. when the indian pm came a lot of indian actors, movie makers, etc. also came. i imagine when the obamas go to england, the american actors there come out of the woodwork - at the invitation of the host, of course.

plus, just because we see these folks pix doesnt mean they are only or even the majority of guests.

I didn't assume/say anything about 'majority' -- my question is, regardless of what other guests are invited, why are actors and actresses invited <span style="font-style: italic">at all?</span>

the only one that makes some sense to me is George Clooney, as he is quite politically active and outspoken --(in fact he just got arrested today for protesting inhumane conditions in Sudan) - but all the other entertainers just seem extra, and not relevant in any way to anything having to do with government affairs.

dont know why but entertainers always get invited, both here and overseas must look into that

suh hear this. apparently one of samcam's fave actor is chevy chase ,and reference was made on either an invitation or programme for the dinner and she thought he would be there. turns out it was a reference to chevy chase (place).
