Had my physical last month and paid my usual co-pay. The following week was an open forum for my new Health care enrollment period. The representatives from the Insurance company came to educate us on changes in the plan and I was very enlightened by things mi neva know.


Mi a get fi fine out seh Di OBAMACARE now seh dat Wellness check ups suppose to be FREE. No co-pay should be assessed to the patient. But as mi jus seh, mi did mi physical and dem tek mi big $20


So mi call dem up an tell dem seh mi waan back mi money cause OBAMA seh mi mussen pay fi check up ... Guess what???? As usual di flipping people dem always a fine way fi tief di insurance company an rig di system. They did an EKG on me (weh mi neva ask fah) and apparently that allowed them to list the visit unda some odda code odda dan fi Wellness.

What a set a criminal dem! Mi cawl di Insurance company an gi dem di scoop. Dem seh dem going to look into it and dem ago mek mi dispute that claim. Dem very outta arda.... an troo dem know people noh know di entire Health Care law dem a tek advantage.

Neda ting mi fine out.. all dis time mi tink when mi a goh to CVS fi get mi "Mad people" medication, mi tink what dem charge mi come fram di Insurance. Nat a backside goh soh. Di insurance company tell wi seh wi fi shop around to different drug store cause some a dema tack aan price pan di drug,. Sure enough, mi xfer mi prescription to Walmart (Hush Kia ) an it $10 cheapa

is couple years well now likklegen place nuh charge copay for wellness visit aka checkup.

my place usually charge mi for checkup, havent been in a while so dont know if dem change to reflect the new healthcare

yes I knew you could shop around for best price script.

BUT when I do a physical I usually expect an EKG, if not, I ask for one. I also expect a full blood lab.

Rich I like the little pharmacy them ... much more personal than the others.. plus John know mi by name and have mi script ready quick ...and them other 2 at the next place give me good info that make mi get less expensive drugs that was more effective.

Wendy you pay co-pay for Wellness Exam Why? An wah kinna exam you get weh nu include EKG (for more seasoned individuals) and full blood work

as for drugs...mi know you supposed to shop around. but what i have found out is that you are supposed to ask for generics for all of your drugs. most places charge a flat rate for generics (ie: Walgreens charge $4 for 30 days, $7 for 60 and $10 for 90) as long as your doctor writes the script for that.

This is the first time dem do EKG... Mi shoulda know seh dem up to somting

Also, state by state tings use to deh all ova di place what an what di Insurance dem could and could not do. In the State of MD, dem charge fi Wellness visit (Co-pay) so it was news to me dat dem fi tap dat now.

Blood work is common ..neva said mi neva get dat. The EKG was the only new culprit in the game. And BTW, the Insurance company does NOT have EKG listed as a part of &quot;wellness&quot;. According to them that is given if the patient has a history of heart problems or have some complaints along that line.

So if you did a get it pan regular - good fi you -- but dat was jus fi get more money outta di Insurance company..

Pretty soon when dem wi fine more tings fi a &quot;test&quot; when di law ketch up to dem.

Oh and ILP ..mi Doctor write prescription fi generics all di time and mi had to complain to har because CVS claim dem neva have that in stock on goh fill di bran name. (Again, bloody tief dem)

Anyway, I was under assumption that the Insurance companies had a lot to do with the how much you pay for the drug - wedda generic or bran .. well mi know betta now

Well is MD mi live until august when mi lef there and come ah Texico. Ahn mi neva pay for a wellness exam yet. Eva. And as for the EKG and them kinna test...I am under the impression that they are recommended based on various factors like health, history, age (although mi is spring chicken ahn nu know nutten bout old people tings like you )...so when dr's make recommendations, a patient supposed to take it as just that...a recommendation. So if mi &quot;need&quot; them kinna test..then mi paying the minimum or ILP getting it free. A just so I've operated.

At the end of the day... because mi know mi live in a society of ginnals, mi mek sure to scour/dissect (AND line by line) the various provisions of what my coverages are and what that means from plan to plan (and sometimes within the same company), person to person, etc. I usually go into dr's offices and &quot;tell them what to do&quot;....of course within reason, which is dictated by my bottom line (pocket book)!

Also, the tips I get about rx's came from a pharmacist I am related to that works for cvs/caremark.

One more tips: if a pharmacy tells you &quot;we are out of generics, so we have to give you name brand&quot; then they must by law charge you your generic co-pay.

ETA: that example I gave in the previous about walgreens mi will properly explain that if you co-pay for generics is $ten, but them a sell the same for $seven...you are to pay the $seven

Thanks to your HC coverage ..that was taken care of. My Aunt is a teacher and she too dont pay for that. Give tanks fi Union bargaining. Wan time shi did goh tell mi fi take off my warts (tiny ones on my face) because she did hers and she said for free. Mi goh to mi Dermatologist and had to come out of pocket fi a portian a di surgery. All HC plans are not created equally.

What I am saying now it is STANDARD all across the board that this should stop..tanks to the HC reform passed. Private sector people like me had to pay for Wellness (co-pay) all this time.

Mi hear yuh on the ginalship ... an di ting is dat pharmacy went ahead a fill weh dem waan fill and neva alert me or my Doctor. Needless to say, I did not take the medicine until mi could get mi generic. Dem too tief
