i decide to post this so y'all can laff i guess. especially the anti false hair activist.

yes mi dere friday mi go to a well know hair salon here in town. i wasnt plannin on buyin ne thing i just wanted to look at wat they have (hair wise) and compare to another place that i know normally has more variety.

neways mi walk inna di place an as usual wen u go a bizniz place weh run by black people nobaddy nuh fawt pan yuh. dem nat even say dawg how u do u need ne help.

neways mi did deh a look and in walked the owner asking if ive been helped yahdah yahda...she run go tek aff har coat and come help me. she was so nice and helpfull and eager to make a sale.

she gave me a super good deal on some human hair i was lookin at. den to top it off she said she would weave it in for me at a discount price....

neways mi soon come back this took longer that i thought i have to go wash out the die outta mi head...yes the die. i colored my weave .....thats the story mi soon come back

ok so where was i....

yes mi dere so yessideh mi go fi get my hair weave. di gayl weh do it mi and har reach same time and from she step choo di door she stawt cuss cus she just got her hair braided and it no suit har.

neways...the hair i wanted is very cury so i mek sure tell har mi no want it big and poofy so she fi only put one layer of hair on each row.

so the day wen i bought the hair they didnt have enuff of the color i wanted (blackish) so we decided that we could mix it with a brown. i disctintly told dem i wanted the end result to have more of the darker color and a less of the lighter one. i wanted it to look like dark brown har wiht a little bit of ligher brown mixed in. i didnt want the lighter brown to over power it cus i dont want look like duppy

neways first things first di gyal stawt of using two layer of hair. i said to her...i dont like big hair...she say o no it not gonna be big. we have to use two so dat it fill out better.mi sey alrite as long as it no big and as lang as we have ennuf black so i still have dark hair. mi no want no light color hair. alrite. she say no problem.

on the second row she double it again. mi no sey nottin.
by the way di gyal braid it tite eisi and den wen she a sow in di weave fadda in heaven i want pisssss.

neways to make a long story shawt by the time she stawt row numba 3 mi seh he my girl di hair already big and wi no half done yet. she say doan worry so mi sit down calmly concentrating on not pissssin up miself.

mi realize seh because she double up we runnin shawt on black and at dis rate most the hair gonna be done in brown....NOT wat i want. i pointed out the fact....she said o doan worry we have lots more hair....i thought [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif[/img] ok wateva yessideh wen mi come here dis was all they had..o well she must know rite?....

well the owner came up to check up on the progress.....she confirm sey she doan have nemore of the dark color left in stock. plus she agree wid mi seh it too big so di girl mus tek out the ones that she double up and do them single like i requested. aftarall a fimmi head.

so newyas she tek it out and ray ray. so di hair finally done. and tank di lard mi no wet up di chair. it still had way more of the lighter brown than i wanted but it didnt look to bad....so i thought under the lighting. which isnt very good....so i found out.

looking at the hair from the back i quite like it. the two colors blended quite nicely. looking at it from the front. no thats a differnent ting. i didnt quite like it. it look like i had really really big patches of streaked hair gone bad. there was on big row of brown one big rown of black and another gib row of an even ligher browns. u know how the hair is...its not really uniformed some lighter than some but its supposed to look nice if done properly...

neways like i said wen i was inside the place it didnt look too bad. the back i loved the front i thoght meh it will grow on me.

mi dera as soon as mi get in di cyar and loook inna di glass mi nearly faint weh. my hair did not look very nice wen out in the ligth at all at all.... mi nat even know di words di describe it.it didnt compliment my skin tone at all. mek mi look olda dan ,mi granny chimmy [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

mi start fi drive and mi head stawt hat mi. di sinting tight it tight it tight. o lawd it hurts even to shoulder check no joke.

by the way mi figgot to mention di gyal tell me fi tek two tylenol wen i was going to bed.she know wat she was sayin,


misey one piece a head ache. seriously!!! i dont take tyelenol and ting often but i had to take dem last nite. mi tek tow at around 6pm and mi head just a kill me so. den mi tek two more at around 10:30-11:00ish dem mi wake up back 4:00am i tek two more. mi stawt ketch mi friad cus mi baddy no use to so much medication. and mi stawt to fret cus i can only take two more before i just have to grin an bear it.

neways mi finally drop asleep after di 4am dosage and didn wake up till 8 dis mawnin. wen i woke up i notice i wasnt in extreme pain. just the usual tightness of wen u just got ur hair done. that kinda pain i can handle.


newas of course now my hair looks real bad. i coundnt sleep with it covered cus that added tightness was too unbeareable so needlesss to say it well nat up and tangle up aldoe mi di plat it inna two.

well mi finally manage fi untange it and mi go a walmart go buy some dye. i was originally gonna get ebony color dye but mi ketch mi fraid and go wid natural black...just in case i thought.

well it no turn out 3 bad i guess.....its way too black but it look betta dan the lepord look i had.

so mi did deh a comb it out fi about an hour. lawd how dis hair can nat up nat up so. ***kiss teeth****

it look really fake now that is so black......so i got the brite idea to cut it...MYSELF [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif[/img][img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif[/img]

well i cut it so just above my shoulder. it dont look so fake now. its mabe an inch longer than my natural length so i think that helped.now i can face people again. lol

cus after mi wash out di dye and si how fake it look mi was gwine tek out di dyam ting and just go wid wah god gimme. i figured if i cut it an i dont like it then i have nothing to lose.

but i like it. and the xtra blackness should fade within a weekish....yes all that is my weave story.

i was never one to create excitement over hair but last nite i was frantically calling my sister-in law askin har if i can dye a weave. i had never heard of such a thing and wen my mom suggested dying it i thougth she mus be crazy.... guess not cus i worked. lol

after this i probable wont get a weave for a long time. infact this is the first and the last im doin a full weave. parital weaves look way betta and i would have just done black to match my real hair and would have saved myself the drama....

mi still in pain by the way. im hopin i will be able to sleep tonite so mi can go to work a mawning.

I looked like a little pickney with a face lift. When I got home my husband looked at me and asked "Why did you let them braid it that tight!" Now you know that's TOO tight when you don't want to move your head back and forth to keep from getting run over by a car [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif[/img] . Man that can cause some serious problems, though. I've seen people get traction alopecia (especially around the edges and napes) from too tight braids.

I'm not exaggerating one bit and I can remember it as clear as day, crossing the street was something even trying to drive. Teacher Reprimands 4th-Grader for her Hairstyle



Shatiah Ford


(Columbia) – Some parents say a Richland One teacher was out of line when she told their daughter to take out her weave and accused her of breaking the dress code.

Elizabeth and Emanuel Ford took their 9-year-old daughter Shatiah to get a weave put in her hair as a way to build up her self-confidence, but they say a teacher at Satchel Ford Elementary School actually made their daughter feel worse when she accused the girl of wearing a wig; not once—but twice.

Like many kids will tell you, it’s not easy being a 4th grader—with school, homework, and trying to be accepted by other kids.

Shatiah Ford is no exception:

“I would have to say, some of the work we do in class [is the hardest part],” the sweet-faced 9-year-old said after school Thursday.

For Shatiah, feeling good about her appearance helps with all those pressures.

“I like having long hair, but it's just that, my hair is short. My real hair is short. And that's why I like having long hair on my head,” Shatiah said.

“She's very shy, she's timid,” echoed her mom Elizabeth.

Shatiah's hair had recently started to fall out due to a perm, so her parents allowed their daughter to get a weave—braided hair woven into her natural hair—over the weekend.

“When she got it, she was like, 'Oh! Look at me! I’ve got hair now!'” Elizabeth said.

But Elizabeth and her husband Emanuel say that joy and excitement turned into hurt after what Shatiah’s Social Studies teacher said to her after class.

“Said she didn't think it was appropriate for a 9-year-old to wear a wig to school,” Elizabeth said.

“I said, 'how is that inappropriate?' Matter of fact, it's not even a wig!”

The Fords say the teacher pulled their daughter aside outside of class and told her she was breaking the dress code. It happened Wednesday and Thursday.

“[The teacher] could have come to me, could have called me on the phone to ask me about the situation,” Elizabeth said with frustration.

Instead, the Fords heard about what happened from Shatiah, who phoned them from school on Thursday not knowing what to do about her hair. Her parents say her confidence has been let down.

“Umm-hmm,” said Shatiah, bashfully.

Richland One School District officials say wearing the weave actually does not break any rules. Mr. and Mrs. Ford were given an apology.

“Everybody's allowed to say 'I'm sorry.' But sometimes, 'I'm sorry' is not good enough,” said Emanuel.

What the Fords really want is for someone to apologize to their daughter.

“We trust the schools to help our kids out when they're away from home, and for a school system to focus solely on a child's appearance?” Emanuel said, shaking his head in disbelief.

Shatiah does get to keep her weave. School district officials admitted the teacher might have gone too far interpreting the dress code when she reprimanded the little girl. They say they will talk to the teacher about her actions.
