I have a formal "black tie" awards ceremony this Saturday..

I have no idea what to wear.. Looked in my closet and all mi si a work clothes and weekend warrior clothes and vacation clothes.
I see nothing at Macy's ... so so granny looking clothes. Nothing that flatters a petite body.

My hair is a mess.. just all over the place. I don't know if twisting and combing it out in afro will look right for a formal affair.

Well, the upside is I have shoes to pick, choose and refuse.

I need HELP!

do the twist out fro and stick something blingy into the hair on one side. look in the bridal accessory section or somewhere like that.

hmm black tie formality in this summer heat........ I would go with a pale gown white/beige/light pink/blue/purple what ever fit your complexion

I'll go back to Macy's and also Dillards and look in the bridal sections. I saw head accessories at TJ Maxx, I thought what I saw looked stylish but didn't think it's me.

I'm almost to the point of not wanting to go

why? something simple, streamlined in a neutral tone always looks great. accessorize the hell out of it with flashy stuff.

Why do you need head accessories?
I can see you in a simple but elegant white dress ending just above the knees and killer shoes. Maybe some jewellery for the neck area, maybe bracelet, maybe even earrings (I'd keep them small but sparkling).

Just keep it all simple and stunning.

And don't forget to post a pic!

I wore a Ralph Lauren cowlneck dress that has shirring at the waist. A matching earring and necklace set, and a creamish colour 5&quot; heels peep toe pumps.

The occasion was honouring US Martial Arts Hall of Fame.. my instructor got inducted. The ceremony was jammed packed with men and women who are professional martial artists with over 50 years of experience teaching and holding doctorates in martial arts and spending their life teaching the art. It was a very interesting event... some long winded speeches... some putting me to sleep... some getting my attention and for sure, everyone in that room packed a wallop in their hands and feet and were soft on the outside but had a heart and will power of steel.

I forgot to use my camera for pictures, so after I got home, my husband took these. He takes so long to take one picture, I was falling asleep by the time he pressed the shutter button. lol!

my smile started to fade and my eyes were shutting down...

Btw, I had to get my hair trimmed... it's been breaking ever since I started using Carol's Daughter hair butter product. Mi throw it wey this a.m.
