Do you stick with one makeup company or do you mix companies? I love Mac"s lipstick and some eyeshadows but have tried their foundation and just can't seem to like it. " I just bought some 2 weeks ago so that's $30.00 down the drain. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img] Found myself back at the counter of Fashion Fair love their blush and use to wear their foundation after several attempts from the lady at the counter trying to apply too light foundations on my hand [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] Should have just had the guy working at the same counter to help me. We finally found a brown one. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img] Mascara has always been Maybeline (sp?) I like one particular eyeliner from Walmart.

The lady at Fashion Fair's counter asked me what cleaning routine did I have for my face. The last time one of them asked me what I used on my face I told her vaseline and she pratically had a heart attack right there at the counter. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img] I can't tell her African black soap cause that may send this one into a tizzy so I just told her I didn't have any. Her suggestion was that I needed to exfoliate (sp?) [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif[/img] She didn't have any cream there but she suggested Targets. The only product I see for Black skin is Ambi my friend and I finally agree on one that almost costs $8.00.

Now I see face masks, skin renewal cream, age defying cream anti age cream etc etc I'm not falling for that stuff at all. Here goes Boopie.....Some suggestions, it works well for me

Cleansing: Neutrogena Acne Scrub ($9), this is for exfoliation. I also use the oil free acne wash ($7).

Moisturizing: Olay Definity Corrective Lotion with SPF 15 ($30)

Face Paint (As ILP puts it....[img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]) : Mac Studio Fix ($24). This works very well for uneven skin tones, and oil is not a problem.

BTW, stick to the vaseline because its the best base you can use for your skin, especially your T-Zone.

I don't have acne, never did even in my teenage years. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/desdentado.gif[/img] They must have changed the formula in Vaseline cause my skin doesn't like it anymore. War paint and clown paint is right some of these women really cake it on. Especially the women at the Mac counters. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] New Yorks makeup is the same way they probably use a spatula to get thet gunk off their faces. I don't suffer from acne either, its just that it help me prevent the breakout. I've seen some women with some makeup [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] and its awful.

Stick to what you're used to....

Boopie stick to the black soap...if you need to exfoliate use St. Ives apricot scrub, rinse and finish off with the black soap. I have been using it for years and have no problems. The black soap leave your skin one tone and really clean.

I stick with one company for makeup -- M A C which is under the evil Estee Lauder family
and I use another line for skin care (Sensaria) Skin does change during seasons and you may be experiencing a seasonal change.

I like MAC for their lip glass. I had one that lasted many months.

I haven't a found a foundation yet that I want to wear. I've used Prescriptives, Black Opal and MAC so far and I never feel like it really matches my skin. Most times I can't be bothered to put it on anyway because it never looks like when the makeup lady puts it on. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

Usually I just go with eyeliner, lipliner and lipstick/gloss. </span>

Estee Lauder is evil due to a discrimination lawsuit brought by black employees a few years ago. Their practices were disgraceful.

Don't really wear make up so mi naw waste mi money pon nuh expensive one. Mi wi buy one Maybelline mousse a Walgreens and call it a day.
