She has a lot of hair..By look at her I would say her heritage is haitian. When I was younger I used to see the haitian women with a lot of hair, natural and healthy. Her hair reminds me of that kind of look.

if u use the oil sparingly it wont weight down the hair olive oil is the absolute best

I'm using olive oil now instead of the Dabur oils as they contain mineral oil and synthetic scents. Unfortunately, I've slacked off on the henna and my hair is a bit weaker as a result. I'm still using shikakai though.

Maybe <span style="font-weight: bold">sweet almond oil</span>?

First thing to do is make sure your scalp is really, really clean. I dilute some shampoo in a bottle with a nozzle and apply it directly to my scalp, part-by-part, and rub it in well. That clears up any residue, dead skin, styling products, etc. and you may get immediate relief from dryness and itching.

Since you have a relaxer, you probably want to keep your hair bouncy, so if your scalp still feels dry, try a very light oil on your scalp like <span style="font-weight: bold">jojoba oil</span> and massage that in daily or every few days. I don't use any natural creme type moisturizers, but <span style="font-weight: bold">Mizani H20 Rose </span>is very good for the hair. I've never applied it to my scalp though.

ETA: I see these products recommended on other forums - never tried them.

And yes, you do need to drink water to keep your skin hydrated.

I have very fine hair so anything with oil is going to make it look stringy and dirty. if i am gonna use the oil then i would have to do a bun everyday for the rest of my life.

the jojoba oil works great

I use it from time to time in my hair but mostly in girlkia's hair when she was younger. now I use it on her face

it absorbs into the scalp and skin quickly and does not have a greasy feel to it

i see a mizani jojoba oil...and it wasnt cheap.

i may give it a try tho'.

the summer was actually worse for my hair/scalp..now it doesn't seem as bad ( i switched hair care lines too..so that could have been a part of the problem)

Try to get pure jojoba oil from Whole Foods or similar. It would probably be cheaper than a Mizani product.

also get your daughter to palm roll your hair - either with water or a little bit of brown gel to get the fizz out

wear a headwrap as much as you can - you won't have to do this forever but it will keep down the frizz as well

don't wash it every week - this will allow the natural oils of your hair to develop and rid you of dandruff (not saying you have dandruff) and

get your head back into it's natural balance

i wash, oil, palm roll it myself and i'm good to go for a long time . . .

don't fight your hair - stop messing with it - that's the hardest thing for folks to get about them - do nothing
