Have you tried cutting back on your sugar and starch intake? How about putting miconazole nitrate on your scalp?

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common, inflammatory skin condition that causes flaky, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas such as the scalp or inside the ear. It can occur with or without reddened skin.

Cradle cap is the term used when seborrheic dermatitis affects the scalp of infants.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

Seborrheic dermatitis is thought to be due to a combination of an over production of skin oil and irritation from a yeast called malessizia.

Seborrheic dermatitis appears to run in families. Stress, fatigue, weather extremes, oily skin, infrequent shampoos or skin cleaning, use of lotions that contain alcohol, skin disorders (such as acne), or obesity may increase the risk.

Neurologic conditions, including Parkinson's disease, head injury, and stroke may be associated with seborrheic dermatitis. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) has also been linked to increased cases of seborrheic dermatitis.

Symptoms

Seborrheic dermatitis can occur on many different body areas. Typically it forms where the skin is oily or greasy. Commonly affected areas include the scalp, eyebrows, eyelids, creases of the nose, lips, behind the ears, in the external ear, and along skin folds on the middle of the body.

Nylah I have a good connection for hair products here since I go to a black salon so certain things he will order in for me [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70371-jump.gif[/img]

But alot of the products I can't use because I have an extremly sensitive scalp as well as I can't use anything scented [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]

I did the same thing too and what a difference it makes on your whole system.

Plus you need to watch the type of medications you are on especially antibotics. You know how they mess up your yeast levels and cause havoc on skin too.

I'm lazy and dont like to wash my own hair. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70390-shhh.gif[/img]

I had one a long time ago but I bought that from a hair salon as well. So hopefully, someone else on the board can recommend something.

huh?

I build it into my week as another appt and I'm not there all day.

She washes and conditions like I would do at home myself.

And for me it has made the biggest difference in the condition of my hair. No more breakage, etc. That's what has worked best for me. So ppl can do the same thing at home if they wish.
