Yes your points are valid but Black female actresses, models and dancers are not going to have the bucks or the clout to make a decisions until they get a big break or two.
Also, look at what Black male producers do when they get into a position to make casting decisions. Dem a noh bettah. Now, as far as talent, I love Ben Vereen to death...what an incredible dancer. Yet when he was up here casting a TV movie set in the 1930s, who did he pick for the love interest, a woman with a weave dung to her waist and this was when weaves were first coming in. In terms of the era in which the movie was set, this casting decision didn't even make sense.
I still contend that this is a double standard and that the general public and Black men are not doing their part to help fix this when they get into positions of power. Spike Lee, John Singleton, and Robert Townsend are among the few exceptions.
