This is for J-Kid. I don't know if is blonde moment brain freeze or what. This is a clue that I may not be able to digest your technical tips.

I bought 2 extension chords a while back. Brought them home, plugged them in and just couldn't get them to work. I was royally ticked and complained about the shoddy workmanship to my Mom. I told her I have to return them to the store but I didn't have time.

She asked a simple question and was able to troubleshoot the problem and get them working in one moment.

Let's see if you can figure out what she asked me.

Was dese Dollar Store extension cords, and did they hav circuit breakers pan dem?

No they were from Staples and to the best of my knowledge, they did not have circuit breakers.

Nope wrong answer..the one on the right is White.

The Black blond is in the red suit.


I knew they weren't working as the lamp on one end table wouldn't go on and when I tried to use my laptop, it would only operate form the battery.

Okay here is what my Mom asked without seeing the extension chord...'did you turn on the switch'.

The switch was white the same colour as the extension chord.

I have not bought an extension chord in a long time. I did not realize they had on and off switches. Come to think of it, I should double check my old ones that "stopped working".

Yuh said extension cord. Dat ah noh extension cord, it is a power strip. Wen people haffi visualize it dem wi tink is suppen else if yuh noh describe correctly.

Really? I though the long ones with power surge protection etc. were power strips and the small ones were extension chords. Shows you how much I know.
