For an Asian (Vietnamese) baby boy -- for Tet (Asian New Year).

Need size 9-12 months; Must be red and/or red and yellow (or gold-colored).

Eh, not precicely.

BUT, one needs to know that he's Vietnamese (and from a Vietnamese family) to avoid any cutlural taboos. That's all.

<u>Clothes for Tet (adult, child, or infant) must be</u>:
1. New. If one never wears new clothes but for once, it must be on Tet. No one enters the New Year with old baggage of any kind, and clothes are no exception.
2. Red is the vastly preferred color, preferably with some yellow or gold or trimmed in gold or yellow. Red is the color of good luck/fortune.
3. He will need both 'fancy' clothes (to go to Temple in - they're Bhuddist, and for their formal Ancestral Supper) and more casual clothes for the rest of the day and evening.


That's it.


I need to find red (or red and yellow/gold) clothes for casual and for fancy, one outfit of each. Winter clothes, since Tet is February 7th this year.

In that case then, a Vietnamese store would probably carry these traditional clothing.

What is wrong with buying a good friend's first baby his second most important clothes of his young life?
(I bought him his first important clothes a few months back, in late August: his fancy clothes for his One-Month Life Celebration, when it is deemed that he will have a life (ie - has survived long enough to be 'counted'/considered. It is considered to be VERY BAD luck to have any kind of celebration before a newborn baby has lived it's first month.)

Me! I have none!

All I know is that they breathe and bleed, wet and mess, puke and gnaw and try to swallow anything they can get past their darn lips!
They scream and cry, most of the time for no reason apparent to ME... and... mostly ALL babies HATE me. (Really. They do. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif[/img])

There <span style='font-size: 14pt'>^</span> is the total sum extant of my knowledge of babies.

I like babies, but most of them sure don't like me back! *hanging head low*
