Someone told me i am going to ruin my jewelry because i dont ever take it off unless i am doing something to break it or ruin it or something. other than that i just wear it all the time...

diamond settings have to be tightened from time to time because they loosen. also gold is a very soft material, if you bake for eg. the metal expands from the heat and tightens from the cold. it can make it brittle. and metal does wear down.

how often does it have to be tightened? I have a diamond tennis bracelet that i dont ever take off. So it's just best that i take it off sometimes??? i just keep it on because its a hassle getting it on in the mornings especially when i am rushing or if i am running late i might forget it completely.

when the stones start falling out, i'd wager it's a good idea to get them tightened.

getting them tightened once every 2 years is not bad. i can keep up with that.

yes. the stones WILL fall out if the prongs loosen. found that out the hard way.
