So I screwed up

after I got my hair colored in December, I decided the following week that I wanted the lighten parts even lighter. I didnt undertstand from my hair dresser that it meant cutting the color with bleach [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif[/img]

my hair was getting long and was in really good shape but the bleach did it in [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]

after Xmas I got my 'dresser to color over the bleached parts cause it was too light and I looked like a ghettohood rat with these stupid stripes ( Blackstar you were right [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img])

now, I have had some breakage in the back [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bexbad.gif[/img] and had to trim some of it off [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] most ppl wouldnt notice the lost of a few inches but I do [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70361-embarassed.gif[/img]

lesson learned: no damn bleach in my hair and grill my hairdresser better before she does a damn thing to my head again.

when I got the first coloring done she said she wouldnt use bleach on my hair to get the blonder highlights I wanted because she was afraid of damage. I said kool.
The next week, when I wanted more lighter brown highlights, I thought she would do just more of what she did the previous week.

She didnt tell me that she added bleach until after the hoodie came off and I almost screamed [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img] I looked stupid as all hell. The woman tried to convince me that it wasnt so bad afterall [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whatever.gif[/img]

yeah, looking like a Piddy's mama is what I aspire to.[img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img] So, with her having to color over that hot mess - color looks good now - and the bleach, my poor hait couldnt take it.

Sue, I know it can grow back but I am still choked that I had to lose it. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] My hair does grow fast though, so by summer I should be fine. aye sah, live and learn.

Nylah lawd a massy nuh badda chat I had this one in teh bronx color my hair burgundy mi come home an missa marie love di color him run him han chroo ie an some come out mi baxcova my hair was breaking in all sort of places. I used Organics hair mayonnaise as a deep conditioner weekly and it grew back healthy

I was more annoyed that the hairdresser didnt tell me what she was doing more than anything. I notice the breakage more than anyone else - problem with being vain. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

the hairdresser should have told you the highlights get lighter as time goes on.

I do hope you are using deep conditioner and maybe even to strengthen your hair some henna (blackstar had posted a link to henna some time ago) [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70459-hugs.gif[/img]

Kia, I go to the hairdresser each week for deep conditioning, so recovery should be quick. If you never seen my hair before, you'd never think that I lost a bunch. It's just not what I'm used to in terms of length.

Just have to wait it out.

When mi go a salon an say mi waan do sitten, especially when it come to cutting my hair into a style or trying a new color, dis blasted ooman always question mi an ask mi if mi sure 100 times before shi do nutten. Bizi, I think cause I have known her for years she sometimes thinks she doesnt have to tell me what she is doing. She is normally really cautious with my hair and keeps it pretty strong but last December the woman lost her damn mind [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif[/img]

then if I kick off on her, I get a whole heap of tears and denials, etc. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img] so I have to be careful [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif[/img]

the goal was to get it to about the length of your hair after your dope cut the other day.
