mi tek de last 3 weekends an clean mi closet..mi put aside mi 6 bag dem fi carry go de army and mi cousin, anty an madda come a mi yaad come dig dig an nuh lef nutten fi de army [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]

Inna my closet mi have mi bottoms (skirts, jeans, pants, etc) on one side and the tops (shirts,dress, jackets, etc) on the other side.

I group my work pants together closest to the door, then my jeans then skirts an watnat

tops for work are at the front..casual tops next then clubbin inna de back

de shoes dem weh mi wear most hang up at the entrance of the closet. de nedda one dem..boots, etc deh inna de back genst the wall..den mi have some nedda ones whe probly need fi dash weh that are still in boxes [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif[/img]

Sue, ya got the cart before the horse.

First you need to get rid of the kids, then retire, then realistically assess what social obligations you need to keep...

Clothes are grouped together.

Dress pants, Jeans, capris and skirts(2). Then Dresses. The other wall has top, arranged by everyday, dressy and formal. Business Suits are in the guest closet. Current job is very casual, no need for suits.

Me used to have each clothing category arranged by color, but dat was when I had a bigger closet.

Shoes are in boxes on the shelf above the clothes, purses on the shelf next to the shoes.

Sandals, sneakers, flip flops, beach shoes, etc are on the floor below the clothing.

I try to dispose of clothes that I have not worn in 6 months. I have slacks on the bottom and tops on the top. Dresses and suites are to one side. Shoes are in boxes which I try to identify by color.I invested in some huggable hangers which are the best.

1) Turn guest bedroom into walk-in closet. (remove guests first)
2) All pants grouped together, all skirts grouped together, etc.
3) Once they are grouped together as such, then group them by color.
4) Off-season shoes go to the back of the closet.

Now when you need an outfit, you can pick one from a category easily. ex: black pants, with blue sweater...move down to shoe area and pick shoes. Kind of like walking an assembly line. Makes it easy to get dressed in the morning.

Always invest in good hangers so you don't get those funny lumps in the shoulders of your jackets and tops. Hang pants from waistband (not folded in half over a hanger) so this way you don't have to always iron out the crease in the leg that the hanger makes.

Cedar-scented air fresheners will keep the sweater-eating bugs away.
