I love this site - Grandma is the best !! Can anyone help me out with the recipe for manish water - My husband luv dis soup and me have yet to experience making this.. Tanks..

Mannish Water

4 lb ram goat head
water
3 green banana
2 irish potatoes
1 lb yam
1 carrot
1 chocho
1/2 lb pumpkin
3 tablespoon salt
12 pimento seed
5 stalk escallion
8 sprig of thyme
2 pks cock soup
1 scotch bonnet pepper
5 cloves garlic
spinners
1 cup white rum
margarine

wash meat really well.place meat in a large pot cover with water add garlic,bring to a boil,simmer for about 2 hours,add vegetables and salt. simmer for an hour or so. add pimento seeds,escallion,thyme noodles spinners and pepper.simmer for 30 mins.taste add margarine,adjust seasoning,add rum,boil again. remove from fire,let it sit for about 15 mins.serve.Hope yu like it

an fi gawd sake-remember to mek sure di goat head di burnt one-one day a butcher try gimme di raw one.also not to interfere with Grandma2 good cookin-put 2 scoth bonnet.mek sure they dont burst either..wash the head in vinegar an water to tek wey di raw smell..

A quick question....

Smaddy did tell mi once sey a noh Goathead dem use to mek mannish water but it is well, how do I describe it, di manly member of di animal?

Is dis really true? Cos mi use to drink nuff a it when mi did live inna JA.

to be honest dat is very true,but to be nice mi nuh mention dat,but mi memba say you had to give yu orda in to de butcher weeks in advance if you want some mannish water or cow cow soup,den they would put it aside fi yu DWL,weh still put it in,but my kids wont eat it if dem know so yu just nuh mention dat.
