Well... i used the bisquick in my crab cakes over the weekend, in addition to an egg. It came out okay, i dont think I will use it again. They actually taste better after they set in the fridge overnight. I'm going to have to try the fresh bread crumbs as recommended. I will let you know how it works out. Thank you both for your help.

The bisquick probably made them soggy as it is very moist to begin with. Bread crumbs store bought or self made work the best for me. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Here is a recipe for crab cakes that is very good.
12 oz Lump Crabmeat
2 Slices white bread, broken into very small crumbs
1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 Teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 Medium Jalapeño peppers, seed remove and chopped fine
3 Tablespoons fresh Cilantro finely chopped
2 teaspoon old bay seasoning
1 Large egg, lightly beaten
1 large Shollot, chopped
2 tablespoon Mayonnaise
Zest of 1 lemon
Freshly ground black pepper
Combine crabmeat and bread crumbs set aside
In another bowl, mix togetherall other ingredients add to crab,mix well check for seasoning
Shape and fry until golden brown
transfer to a peper towel to absorb the oil
then transfer to a baking sheet, and bake for 10mins.
