Jamaican Rum Cream

Hi everyone!
Time is really flying by, i'm really excited now!
My mother just returned from Jamaica for the 4th time.
The Hospital she works for goes every year for mission work at St. Ann's Hospital.
She brought us back some Jamaican Rum Cream.
My question is ( I feel stupid for asking) "what the hell do I do with it?!" [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
It says on the bottle not to mix with citrus or acid drinks, so what do you mix with it?
Can I pour a little in my coffee?
Any help would be appreciated!
See, we don't really drink except a beer here and there maybe a glass of wine, so when we go on vacation we really live it up! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
But, i've never had this?

I like it cold over ice! yum!!

I use it in Blue Mountain Coffee as well.

Use rum cream just like you would Bailey's Irish Creme - in your morning coffee, in mudslides, over ice. One of my favorites ways to have in Jamaica was mixed in a pina-colada. Haven't made one of those at home yet (actually don't even like pina coladas usually!) - but sounds wonderful right now! I'm sure if you have a recipe that calls for a liqueur of some sort (kahlua, Baileys) rum cream would work. I still have two bottles from my trip in February that I'm hoarding for some special occasion!

I like it the best just poured over ice and sip it. It is soooo... good. Especially the Blue Mountain Coffee Rum Cream. This is one of the reasons why we are going back, to stock up on it. I have tried so many web sites to order it, but no luck. Oh well, a trip to JA is alright with me!!!

I have to agree with Miss Racsan...it is wonderful in Pina Colada's!!! I actually gained 9 lbs the week we in Negril and attribute 8 1/2 of it to Rum cream! Will be returning 7/29 and have requests to bring home lots for the friends and relatives! It's a good thing it doesn't count as you 1 liter of liquor per person!

It doesn't count against the 1 litre limit? How is this true? If it is, I missed it in the info I was given. Please, lets get these facts out here so we all can benefit. I would have brought a case back with me had I known.

I had no clue either until I went to purchase my liquor at the duty free shop at the airport. I was informed that rum cream is a liqueur and not a liquor. It does not have enough alcohol. Therefore....you can bring home as much rum cream as you wish. We brought back 8 liters of rum cream (various flavors) and our 1 liter per person limit of Coconut rum.

Rum cream and coffee is GREAT! A nice flavour touch is to add a little coconut extract to the coffee grounds prior to brewing!

I hope someone going soon can reserach and bring back definitve proof for all of us. Please, if you do research, please be sure to ask a US Customs agent and not the Salesman at the Duty Free shop! PS:I checked the "Know Before You Go" brochure about US Customs and it did not define between the two.

I don't bring much home anymore since I can get rum cream here in Wisconsin. It isn't Sangsters or Wray and Nephew but it is good, and when ya mix it with coffee, rum cream is all the same as far as I can tell!
