Stewed pork?

Thanks! I made my first batch of brown stew chicken and it came out great! It almost tasted like the "real thing". I added green bell peppers to mine and it added a really good flavor to it. I boiled my cabbage with all purpose seasoning and a little salt, oil and scotch bonnet and it was good as well. I'll have to try the new recipe.

I had already looked through the archives and couldn't find stewed pork. I'll look again but can anybody help me out?

I actually found a Jamaican restaurant in Raleigh, NC! I couldn't beleive it. There's only one though, lol. I don't like their stewed chicken as much as Channer's in Hartford. Their gravy is clear and the chicken looks fried and has a fried texture to it instead of just being browned off. The taste is okay but just not as good. There was a Ben's Jamaican Restaurant in Cary with a grocery, but apparently it closed because the number isn't listed with 411 anymore. Shame. Anyone in this area know anything about it?

hi IrieErie,watz up girl. well mi nuh eat de pork seen,but since yu ask mi call mi sista,she did due a call still DWL. anyway she say she cook it just like mi chicken except fi one ingredient,so here goes

Stew Pork

2 lbs pork
1 onion sliced
1 med tomato
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 cloves garlic chopped
2 tablespoon ketchup
2 tablespoon soya sauce
2 stalk escallion
2 sprig thyme
1 scotch bonnet pepper
2 tablespoon fresh ginger
cookin oil
about a cup of water

clean pork and cut up. season with all the above except oil,leave for at least 1 hour. heat a heavy pot with cooking oil,try an remove all the seasoning and fry pork till nice and brown bout 6 mins or so. remove from oil,drain oil to about 4 tablespoon,add seasoning fry for about 4 mins return pork an all its juices. add some water, maybe 1/4 cup at a time. cover simmer cook for 1/2 hour add water as needed. taste adjust seasoning. enjoy
