ok watch ya now, seeing its winta, an all mi can do is cook [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] mi goin to start some series of threads,on chicken,beef,pork , seafood (salfish included),vegetable and rice dishes, desert and drinks.

ok how this will work,mi want your recipe something you cook all the time or most time, (nat sinting dat look good inna book or look good pon de net), cause yu have to tell we wat yu love bout it an de taste.

i will try any cook them or ask for some help in cookin the recipes (depend on how many we get).who knoh's we mite mek a cookbook or yu could win a prize.

now one day mi did tyad an just want to cook someting diffrent an here it is its a big hit. if you have kids maybe cut bak likle bit on the cayenne pepper,not much doh it not dat hot.

Sticky Chicken

1 whole chicken or parts say 4lbs
4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspon onion powder
1 teaspon garlic powder
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon black pepper

clean the fat (not the skin) from chicken,wash in a vineger bath say 1/4 vinegar to a pan of water. pat dry.
mix the seasoning together,and rub the misture into the chicken and under the skin. can marinate over night or cook imm.
in a shallow baking pan,lay sliced onions,lay chicken on top.roast uncover at 250 dregees for 5 hours.

baste after the first hour,an ever 1/2 hour or so after that,with its own juices. till pan juice caramelize an chicken is golden.enjoy

Ooou, that chicken sounds very good. Like the idea of roasting on a bed of onion, and the vinegar wash, I would have never thought of that!
Will make this on the wk end when the kids are over.

Great idea to do different threads, and count me IN for a cook book!

This chicken dish has been in the oven for 2 hours now and boy does it smell and look good!!!!

Still 3 hours to go.

Great idea G2!!!! I'll be trying this one in the next few days.. maybe tomorrow if i hit the market...

can't wait to collect the recipes..I am so sick of the same old meals all the time..

I dont get how this one gets sticky.. there is no marinade?? just dry herbs...is it from the onions it's sitting on?? and after 5 hours not too dry??
Guess i have to try it to see...

Hey G2, here's`my submission

Bourbon Chicken

1 Chicken cut up or
1 1/2 Lbs boneless chicken breast
GLAZE
1 cup Jim Beam Bourbon whiskey
1/2 cup Dark brown sugar
1 cup Ketchup
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup White vinegar
1 tbs. Fresh lemon juice
3 Cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. Dry mustard
Salt and pepper to taste

Combine Bourbon, sugar, ketchup, sauce, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper.

(taste to see if seasoning need adjustment)

Chicken can be marinted for a few hours in the sauce, but it is not manditory.

If you BBQ the chicken, baste it with the sauce ...when it is turned be sure and serve some for dipping.

If you are pan-fry the chicken , brown the chicken then pour the sauce into the pan and simmer for 5 minutes till sauce thickens.

Serve with rice or pasta.

OMG!!! This is gonna be great. Both these chicken recipes look fantastic! I'll be cooking them both in the coming week. We're having a contest at work week after next at our Thanksgiving luncheon.
