1. Were you raised in a church/religious setting? If so, what church/denomination/religion?

2. Do you find yourself-most of the time-intolerant of people who profess to have (a) faith?

3. If you are/were a parent, would you try to influence your child(ren)'s decisions regarding their religious beliefs? Do you think parents should exert any influence in this regard?

4. If you had to place a &quot;label&quot; on your beliefs, would you describe yourself as an atheist or an agnostic?

5. Was there someone within your circle (family or friend) who influenced and helped shape you in your current belief (or lack thereof)? If not, who inspired the most in your current beliefs (or lack thereof)

6. In the absence of a religious/spiritual frame of reference, how do you motivate/inspire yourself (and others) during those difficult times in your life? </span>

<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">no. i've actually visited different churches of people of different faiths, including hindu or eg. i'm just intolerant of *some* christian who see themselves as 'better than thou' when in fact going to church isn't actually practicing a faith, but a social excursion. caz dem rattin to the bone.</span>

when my children were small, again we experimented with different church. they were baptized anglican, but again we'd visit different churches every sunday or so. the roadside church dem always have the most bangarang. after experiencing the calmness of anglican services and then the rabble rousing fall on the floor antics in the church of god services, they'd be like this</span> ---&gt;

<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">my aunt. she'd get up in front of that church and sing with the voice of an angel and minister to one and all. and on the way home peer dutty badwud bout di state a people cratches. but i'm sure she meant well. it would just nauseate me. i've alwo met a lot of other *christians* who were just debased. on the opposite i've been friends with a christian lady who i respect and admire for her *realness*</span>

6. In the absence of a religious/spiritual frame of reference, how do you motivate/inspire yourself (and others) during those difficult times in your life?

<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">er, but i do have a spiritual frame of reference. i just don't have a name for it. in times of difficulty, i just cope. i don't really pray for help, i take active steps to over come the difficulty i'm experiencing. to me life isn't about praying to cross the street, and waiting for the other side to come to me ---just simply crossing it by taking one step at a time... after making sure the way is clear of course.</span>

also, what did you find interesting about some of the other faith services (e.g. hindu) that you attended?

if someone is an avowed christian and you loved that person because they showed the positive side christianity, would you consider becoming a christian to have a permanent relationship with that person?

yes. re: the rastafarian thingy. but i can't get pass the haille selassie bit. i mean, he's just some dood. ethopians for the most part don't even consider themselves black.

banished myself as a heretic. besides, i can't see myself with the long skirt and bootie bizniz. a bit of lipstick can be quite liberating, and the men are generally brain damaged noodniks from all the weed smoking. their views on the place of women make me ---&gt; sorry.

the different kinds of services are interesting. went to the ethiopian orthodox which is very much like the hindu. the women on one side the men on the other, speaking a language i can't understand, which is probably just as well. the food at the hindu service is to die for tho.



i wouldn't want to conform myself to ANY sort of religion just because i think it's all a bunch of [insert unpleasant word here].

i wouldn't do it any other way. you have to take and give what you got --&gt; the good stuff anyway. religion DOES give people an anchor, so i do think some sort of training, even if it's not from the pointof view of going to church regularly is necessary. but that doesn't necessarily have to fall under the umbrella of &quot;religion&quot;. it can just be values you teach.

i don't know enough about non-christian religions to answer your second question... women aren't generally treated well in any society, on account of the bleeding thing no doubt. christianity isn't that great to women, what with us all being the weaker vessel and submitting to husbands and such.

This is such a misconception, and just one of the many reasons I'm 'dying' to get to and finish post-grad schooling so I can start teaching to correct it. The general abuse of portions of the Scriptures, and the inability/unwillingness of ministers to correct that line of thinking, are some of the reasons why that misconception continues. Anyways, have to get off my soapbox here as that is another discussion altogether
