What an amazing video. I had to wait to watch it this morning, as I was out last night when it was aired on ESPN!

What an inspiring young man - just simple and humble and yet so great!

What a sweetheart eh!!

When the documentary comes available on their website - you MUST ALL get a copy!!! Very moving piece - about one hour - coverage from home and here, and you 'feel' his youth, struggle and pain... praises to Grandma -MissP- who raise him and his sisters!

I am on his friend list, it is great following his and Tanya's travels... Lance is going to visit a elementary school just outside Duluth on the 15th. I know that much of his itinerary. I want to make two Larry the Lead Dog beads for Lance and Newton before then, IF I can tie myself down long enough to find time to do it, and then manage to at least get them to someone who can hand them over, or actually do it myself.

So far, I have the Larry bead in my head. That's a start!

'Underdog' follows the twists and turns of 25-year-old Jamaican, Newton Marshall, as he trains and runs the toughest dogsled race in the world - The Yukon Quest. It is 1,000 miles of racing in terrain unimaginable - from Whitehorse, Yukon to Fairbanks, Alaska.

Being the ultimate outsider Newton's race unfolds against the interwoven story lines of his two years of training and his impoverished life in Jamaica. This race is a ticket to a new life and a chance to prove that he can do anything.

Once out of the gate on the Quest, Newton falls further and further behind and by the mid-point in Dawson City he arrives to a firestorm of trouble. He is in danger of finishing last and that's not good enough for anyone. Newton is blindsided and bewildered by his reception. He thought just finishing would be good enough, but somewhere along the line the rules of the game changed and no one told him. He thinks of quitting.

Driven by his loyalty to his benefactor Danny Melville, the owner of the Jamaican Dogsled Team and father figure to Newton, and even more by the love of his grandmother back home, he rallies. In the next 3 days and 300 miles, Newton confronts his worst fears. Delusional and sleep-deprived, he is in the toughest leg of the race and it is here where he has to decide whether to fold or compete. </span>
