no, Marilyn, not yet. the inducer they gave her last night wasn't working. so they're going to try something else this morning. i'm trying not to worry about the amount of drugs this baby has been exposed to so far in its womb-life...

actually, my sister has been on an off pain medication throughout her pregnancy, even up till this past Tuesday. and when they found out last night that the inducer wasn't working, they gave my sister "something" to help her sleep. that's why i'm a little worried about the effect of drugs on the baby.

my mother says one way or another a baby will be born today...

well, no baby will be born today. the other thing they were using to induce her didn't work either. she got contractions, but not labour. they're going to pop her and hope that brings on the real deal.

still no baby, Sweets. they're giving her different things to move the labour along, but it's very slow going. her water has broken, though and she is dilating. maybe by this evening the baby will be born....*crossing fingers*

one would think with all those fibroids they would try to get the baby out faster.

SS, its because of the fibroids why its taking so long. they don't want to do the c-section because they are afraid of triggering excess bleeding from fibroids in the wall of the uterus. also, my sister has a fibroid that's the size of a five month old baby, on the outside of the womb. my theory is that the fibroid is absorbing a lot of the medication that is supposed to be stimulating labour.
