You're right, coolbeans*, but I just haven't been hassled as much in JA as other places. Perhaps I'm not there long enough for familiarity to set in, or _________. It's quite possible that all the overt "checking" going on in JA is a defense against being called a homosexual.

Speaking of which, Arjen, French men are always looking if a woman is "mignonne". A few years ago a woman PM from France publicly wondered what was wrong with English men because they were not *obviously* looking at the women. In fact, she said 25% of English men are gay - this led to much humour south of the Channel and great annoyance to the north as you can imagine. Link

I, also, think its funny that white men will usually complement some ting you're wearing as opposed to your physical appearance... nice dress ..while salivating. do you think the incidents of date rape in Jamaica are a bit higher than the US for instance? Because men are less likely to understand (or be penalised for ignoring) the boundaries?
