Thanks so much for your report and pics Ochie. It makes it so much more real to me now to see the girls and their school. I will have to visit them when I move there and see if there is something else can be done.

How hard would it be to send computers there? I have at least 2 at home that have simply been replaced by better, faster ones, and we are always replacing computers at my office.

Would there be an electricity converter issue or anything?

Duties?

Heading to Ocho Rios in January and would like to get together some items to donate. How easy/difficult would it be to arrange for someone to pick up or deliver the items to the home?

- If you're sending appliances from Europe to Jamaica, they would need a converter. That is not an issue for appliances from the US.

- I read that there is duty for donated computers. That was the case last year, but that may have changed since then.

I will be in Negril from April 25 to May 9. Perhaps I could donate a day of my vacation to perform building repair or other stuff.

I'm good with older computer equipment, perhaps I could take some of the unworking ones and combine parts to get some working. to bad I don't know whats wrong them or I could take a few spare parts for repair.

Who do I contact to volonteer my time.

I would too. I'm leery of giving to charities though b/c one can never know how much really ends up benefiting the cause donated for. I would however like to help in some way.

my self included, but this strikes a cord, as I actually *met* someone who come from this school, and I had neveer heard of this place before, and having being going to St Ann for a lifetime of summers..
Must check dem out myself..
