ANyway mi would ah like some ah di rasta dem shed some light pon dem movement yah.Mi ah duh one course eena Garyism and mi would ah lik eknow some similarities and differences between di two movement dem. I would appreciate ( or as rastas say "appreci-love") some sources ( preferably internet).

now as to dis marcus character I know bout weh him prophesy seh but mi want likkle more meat dan dat.I was trying to search but to little avail on Garveyism and I owe the llibrary money so I can't borrow any books till I pay so my corner is a bit dark with that. My mother used to tell me that the word, "but" makes all things said before forgotten. Here's why.

I wrote an 11 page paper on this subject some years back showing the rise of Selassie (not the pretiest of pictures), how he became what he is to Jamaicans intially (his trip to England had a lot to do with this considering many Jamaicans were living there), then to Rastafarianism, the rise of Garvey and his promotion of Ethiopianism which came to him from the Ethiopic fervor in Jamaica in his time, and the "alleged" prophesy he made in regards to who some say was Haile Selassie. Some say he never said that and some claim that when asked about Selassie (both lives actually overlapped), he criticized Selassie for abandoning his people by going into exile in England for a period of time.

BUT I have no idea what I did with the disk I saved all this information on.

Thanks R+ I really apprecilove the effort and the fact that you overstand how important this is to I and I (lol) If I daddy was alive I daddy would ah vex wid I cause him was a rasta and him would ah feel seh I a mock di I , but I naw moack di dread I just ah try talk like di I dem fi see if I can ovastan di position ah di ras dem yuh see I? lol what a joke!Thx R+ mean while I am here reading some facinating stuff on them and the movement.

Rastas have a knack for coming up with whole new words. And don't ask them to explain anything theological when they're high. (By the way, I love that guy Luciano gone to bed. The best Christian-Rasta I know. Don't think he knows which one hs is [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] )

That now famous interview Bob Marley had that they play pretty often, I have NO idea what the heck Bob was trying to say. He probably doesn't even know himself (well he sure doesn't now). I've been told you have to be under the influence of some serious shiligit to even get a whiff of what he was trying to say. DWL!!!
