Re: Mi Rememba Gilbert....
Well, I didn't even know I rememba Gilbert til jus yesterday, I meet a (FINE!) man from JA at the beach in New Jersey, an we discussing JA.
So I tellim about when I wen visit Negril the firs time, I sittin down on the beach in front of a craft shack, looking up towards West End way, we just watching the sky get black and as we sittin dere, we see the powerbox jus blow up in a big wash of sparks, den alla dem light jes blink out, all the way up the cliffs. When we reach our campsite (Dread Lion) everythin under water, no lights, no food, no nuttin, no water for days. All our gear wash out, but we didn't vex. Everyone was SO nice, one hotel light up candles, took us in, gave us shower, feed us, everyone sitting round the bar just talking and riding it out, dey give us flashlights fi go look for all our gear, clothes, food, tent - everything either gone or soaked. Dread Lion give us hammock and let us stay, Summerset Village gave us extra-good discount and we stay 4 more days there. Was my first trip to JA and was so much niceness, alla dem ppl dem SO loving, upful, generous, and I loved it so much I nevah even realize. I do rememba was Olympics time back home in the US, but til yesterday when he tell me yah, girl, dat was GILBERT ya kno, West End nevah flood like dat since Gilbert, I couln'dt believe it.
And dis year I going back SAME DATE, and nevah realize dat either, cause nevah rememebr what date I was there before - til jus now. ooooEEEEEEEOoooo, mus be Jah works........
