Wonderful story, and pictures too.

When I think about JA it is often about the country, where we drove through or stopped at a waterfall or came around a river bend and no one was around, looking for a manatee fin...sometimes it's a familiar Negril thing that gets me but more often it is not.

I'm looking forward to traveling more when our kids are older...keep telling all you feel like telling...if you're done, hey I KNOW you have more pictures!

Nina, your impressions of the countryside are equally as picturesque as the actual photos. Everytime I go to Negril, I see artwork that I'd love to have, but usually I don't have much cash to spend.(gotta save, so I can spend longer and go more often) I'm going to try to pick up at least 1 piece/trip from now on; you've inspired me! Ohliz,I did two threads.. that will be about it.. unless I remember something anectodal...which I am sure I may.. I understand when you have small ones your time is not your own..

and queenb.. no one can go to negril and not think of you but once!!! I could see those little red mad icon faces as I approached Alberto [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]
and collecting Caribbean art is a slow thing.. but something I want.. hope to be in the islands part time one day..

Great report Nina! Your pictures are so clear and detailed of the bush...felt like I was there too. I particularly liked the picture of the cane road drawing you in...just gotta see what's around the bend.. And you, my dear, are looking quite good! That smile of pure joy on your face shows how much you enjoyed yourself. Isn't it wonderful to have a day like that? One that you know will stay with you forever.

Thanks Rose.. the cane road went on and on and on.. then narrowed to a small path.. through the bush.. the photo of the guy carrying the water is what it looked like.. I wanted to wander down that path too..but I think I would jut keep going..

next trip is going to be more time spent like this.. maybe in different areas..
it will be Sea and Bush..lololo

and that smile.. yes its the happiest I have been in really I can't remember. a pure hapiness.. sheer joy.. every nerve tingling..I wasn't sure I captured it all right...but glad you enjoyed it [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Nina, thanks for the wonderful report! This makes me want to go to Jamaica tomorrow. I will definately take a side trip one day on my upcoming trip...I agree it really is refreshing to just hear the birds chirp & see all the beautiful lush green foilage in the bush. I especially love the little girls! They are beautiful and full of questions...kids are so innocent. I remember, when I visited with some kids they kept fooling with my hair calling it "dolly hair"! Nina,each moment was perfect. I enjoyed reading your report so much. I have never taken the time to travel to the bush while in JAmaica, but I will make a point of going on my next trip. Stories like yours lets us see just how much of the country we have yet to travel. Thanks again for sharing your adventure. And BTW, who is the artist?
