Here is a family that was just waiting for the dancing to start. Nothing fancy but I have to tell you that these people made me feel at home. It was pure. It was magical. It was Jamaica!

OK folks, take this name to heart. Rasta Patrick is going to get this computer school started up again. I am personally going to donate computers to this organization. As a matter of fact, they will be shipped over to them before my next trip in July. We need your help. If you can help us with hardware, software or monetary donations, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. We are planning to set up a computer learning school for people in Jamaica. I will show you pictures from a school that we visited and you will plainly see that the schools have next to nothing as far as technology goes. This is OUR chance to make a difference.

All right, we have come to MY FAVORITE PICTURE of the entire trip. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to my adopted Jamaican daughters. I am comfortable saying that these are the two most beautiful children that you will ever see in your life. You can say that this is one thorn surrounded by two beautiful roses.

Well, the cruise ship is leaving and we are back at the resort. Here is a shot of the people that will probably never experience Jamaica the way that I and my family have.

These are a couple of pictures from the resort grounds. This 1st one is of the garden rooms away from the towers.

Next up is the KIDZ club at Sunset Beach Resort and Spa. I was a little hesitant about leaving my little guy there but I had the chance to speak to Yvonne and she put all of my fears aside. These workers truly love kids and they take the best care of them. They arrange activities for the kids to participate in as well as supervise them in the KIDZ club building. The following pictures show what is available to the kids in the club.

The neat thing about this place is you can leave your child there and they will take them to the beach, the pool (if they can swim) do arts and crafts and the list is endless. The workers in this club are so dedicated to the children that I felt very comfortable leaving my little guy with them. The kicker was when I came to pick him up after a few hours…..he didn’t want to leave. Now that is service!

Nintendo for the teens!

VHS and DVD’s of Disney movies for the younger ones along with plenty of beanbag chairs all in an air-conditioned environment!

A pool table and foosball for the little ones.

OK, We are back at the resort and just wanted to show you the beautiful view we had once again.

LeeAnne and Rasta Patrick were kind enough to bring some conch soup back for me to eat! (yuuuuummm Conch Soupppppppp!)

OK, No pictures for this installment but just wanted to let you know that there is the very best taxi and tour guide service waiting for you in Montego Bay when you get off of that airplane. Her name is LeeAnne and she will be able to make any type of travel arrangements that you need. I have personally gone on tours of Roaring Rivers, Rafting down the Martha Brae, shopping in Negril, trips (too many to count) into the country to visit real Jamaican families, primary schools, churches and meditation centers. She has the knowledge of the lay of the land as well as numerous contacts throughout Jamaica. She is not my biological sister but I welcome her as a family member none the less! You will too once you meet her. I can say that I have experienced the real Jamaica more in my 2 trips than most regular tourists will in a dozen trips. Whatever you want to see or do, LeeAnne can accommodate you. If you want her number it is (cell phone) 876 869-0900 or (home phone) 876 334-4448. Trust me folks, if you want to do anything in Jamaica, LeeAnne is the way to go.

I am lovin every minute of this report. I stayed at the Sunset also..so many wonderful memories on and "off" the resort.

but mi caayn see your pictures afta the casino shot. WHY??????

I hope to post my report soon...as a side notation...I have a different opinion of Mervina [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] so be glad that you didn't have to deal with her.

Thanx for sharing...oohh Diane's hair is beautiful with the braids.

Absolutely Awesome pictures and great words to go with em. Wow!

Before i go into my dismal kitchen and find something to eat (You have made me soo hungry homer voice ackeee MMMMMMMMM) I just wanted to say I will check with some friends on the computer supplies thing. I know a few people that work at tech companies. I might be able to rig up some donations, no promises but I'll give it my best shot.

Did i mention your pictures are fabulous!

Great trip report and wonderful pics to go with it. It is waay to late for me to start getting so hungry but man! That goat makes this vegetarian want some meat! the children are beautiful and your son is precious. I love his smile. Whoever braided your wife's hair did a great job as well. Jersey Dude, great report!! Vi, if you right-click, and go to "show picture" the photos will show up. I had the same problem.

JD,

What a wonderful report. Thank you so much for showing the real Jamaica. The exposure you gave to the community centre/computer school is great, and I will see what I can do to get donations.

I hope your little boy enjoyed his trip - looks like he made some wonderful friends. If only more children in our countries (Canada and US) could have these kinds of experiences...probably makes a difference in the kinds of adults we "raise" - and it goes both ways as it is good for Jamaican children to meet children from other cultures. It was nice to see LeeAnne as well.

Jersey Dude I love your pictures and your report. But I notice that you asked the people permission to take their photos as I do too, but the new board police are saying that we must also run around with releases for them to sign before we post the pictures on the internet. Your thoughts on this please.
