I've learned to pick up on the non-verbal messages. Like when my husband unexpectanly fills my gas tank or washes my car. Sometimes he even cues a song I like so that is playing when I get in my car. Yesterday he brought lunch to my office for me. These little things say love and committment loud and clear. It took me a while to realize that by doing these little things he was telling me he cared about me. I've learned to cherish each of these caring gestures.

VJay: Excellent points! A significant number of men are not very verbal but their actions do say a lot. I think it is cool that your hubby does the things he does, and more importantly, kudos to you for picking up on and recognizing them as expressions of his love and care. I like the idea of him bringing lunch to you at the office as that act sure speaks volumes. Continued happiness to you both.

This could be tricky and may be best suited for married or seriously committed couples.

Thanks Silent River, I have personally learnt quite a bit from this post and I will further agree that Communication is the most important factor in a relationship. No sense in trying guess what your partner is thinking or feeling.

Why is that a problem? Unless one is playing the field or not ready for a serious commitment, there is nothing wrong with dating one person at a time. OF course, that is assuming that dating in this context means getting with someone to get to know them better and the possibilities of establishing a long term AND successful relationship.
