Give of yourself - Give your time; do things for the other person that you do not seem to directly gain from (like making dinner, doing dished, washing the car, things that the other person would rather not do; buy flowers for no occasion; give your feelings of love everyday; just give. It is better to give than to receive. What you get in return will make giving of yourself worthwhile.

25. Goals - Sit down together and write out your goals. Write ones for each of you under personal and career, and write down your couple goals as well. Choose ones for immediate, short term, intermediate term, and long term.

38. Mothers - If she is a mother, volunteer to baby-sit at least once a week so she can get errands done and have some time to herself. Be sure not to complain afterwards, but be cheery about the evening or day.
{MG: This one is SOOO important, especially new mothers. Men,listen up!}

41. Pay Attention - Always listen to her wholeheartedly and hear what she has to say. Respect her opinions whether you agree or not, remember to always be on her side.

51. Take a nap - If your partner is stressed out, let them take a nap and keep all distractions and emergencies away from them during that time.

That ironing one is so key, too, lol! One last one I'd add:

Many men don't express their emotions well, and use one main emotion, anger, to cover up hurt, fear, jealousy, grief, a bunch of things. Women can help by listening instead of immediately reacting to the anger. By listening and giving men time to talk out the anger, we can often discover the true emotion underneath.

A lesson I learned too late.

Hey Compry, one of the things I do not recall seeing since we started this thread is one that I think is absolutely important. That is to take an interest in the things that interest the other person. For example, I enjoy putting model cars together and while my partner may not care less about it, when I am through with one it doesn't hurt were she to say "Hey, thats really cool". Of course, the opposite is also true about anything that pertains to her. I may not enjoy watching chick-flicks but if she is watching one, I could make the effort to watch it with her.

9. Family members liking you or him (and i don't care what nobody say when you are in a relationship and if the family members don't like you, you need to watch that)
