I watched as Jesus carried the cross, tripping and falling and bleading. I watched as they nailed Him on the cross and I heard His anguished cry. He could have called ten thousand angels but because He knew me and loved me He decided to suffer and die.

This one reminds me of the late Rev. Cleve Grant, who was Chaplin at Ardenne High during my time there. He would have us sing this song far more times than I care to remember. May God bless his soul.

I can just hear the school choir with beautiful harmonising singing that hymn. (Oh Jesus I have promised).... Yes, many of us sang and sang and sang hymns in our schooldays, not even realising that it is the words of those hymns along with the memories of those days that help to fortify us in times like these.
