How can you determine when one has too much wealth?

Is money the root of all evil or is it the love of money?

Does not money answer all things?

If I don't have money, how can I give to the poor?

Are we not to be stewards over what God gives us?

Are we not to wisely manage and invest the money God allows us to have?

Isn't a father who can't make provision for his children's children worse than an infidel?

Do you believe God would rather you live in a rented apartment making minimum income than having a house making adequate income?

What kind of God is he if he delights in your poverty over your abundance?

If my father dies and gives me a large inheritance should I give it away or invest it to make more money to provide for my children?

What is one to do if they are involved in a profession or business that commands an high income? Give it away and beg for food for the family?

This doctrine just reminds me of some of the ridiculous teachings that I believed growing up before I started to study the bible.

Money is like seed that needs to be sown in fertile ground so that you'll be able to reap bountifully.
Don't scatter the seeds my brother.
With money comes power.
The homosexuals understand this and that's why they have so much influence in society.
I just wish to God that the church would move away from this false teaching that has severely handicapped us from becoming effective and fruitful in this perversed world.
No wonder the bible says that the children of the world are much wiser than the children of light.

If you don't want your money,I'll give you my mailing address because I need some right about now.
I guarantee I'll put it to good use.
I refuse to poor,busted and disgusted when my father is a millionaire.

All I know is that many of these church services have become "Get Rich" seminars where it would be nice if during the televised sermons they flashed this message: "Actual results may vary. Bishop Jakes' situation is not the norm..."


Keeping this in mind, I can remember when Jesus was walking somewhere and some dude decided he wanted to follow Jesus. Jesus' response hints at the fact the man was seeing personal wealth and security perhaps thinking Jesus was "going places" and tagging along would somehow enrich his fortunes. Jesus stopped him in his tracks with words to this effect: "Foxes have dens and birds have their nests, but the Son of Man has no place to rest his head."

It's all good to "be in Christ" and really living large (legally) but it sure does not reach or impress those who have NO idea where their next meal is coming from. In fact, when you read about the New Testament characters who preached and were bascially homeless and contrast them to some of the modern day "men of God," who live in lavish homes and preach in modern day castles passed off as "houses of God," it makes me wonder. But oh well. That's just me. Maybe I'm a hater. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

If you died right after you inherited it, would you care?

What is one to do if they are involved in a situation or circumstance that reduces them to begging for food for their family? Beg with pride instead of shame?

The bottomline is that I really don't think you know TD.Jakes personally and for you to blaspheme his name is outright wrong.
How dare you scandal the man's name.
Be careful that you don't allow a pharisaical spirit to enter into your heart which makes you feel that your own personal vows, commitments, sacrifices,or whatever makes you feel self righteous.
Once a person becomes self righteous they start to point out the perceived faults of others especially if they don't have that particular fault.
By pointing out the fault it gives them some kind of validation of their own righteous living.
Almost as if they want to toot their own horn or get a pat on their back.
TD.Jakes has used his money to empower people through apes,books,cd's,conferences,seminars,etc.
Millions of lives have been blessed because of his ministry.
He teaches about giving to others and in fact he encourages entrepeneurship.
His ministry is not about elevating himself but about empowering people to become succesful in all areas of their lives.
If you were able to try the spirit and see the fruits of his labour,this post would not have been created.
I would never suggest that one who is in poverty is hellbound.
A person is in poverty usually because of their ignorance of the Word.
One they start to apply bible principles the curse of poverty is eventually broken.
My brother,God doesn't want you to live in poverty but he wants to supply all your needs according to his riches in Christ Jesus.

However if someone begins to apply biblical principles of stewardship,giving,sowing and reaping,tithing,etc together with prayer and praise that person will break the curse of poverty.
A lot of the older christians used to believe that poverty was a blessing!
Proper teaching has erased much of that negative teaching and now many christians see the many benefits of prosperity.
Bishop Bismarck of Africa is currently teaching thousands of African christians about breaking the cycle of poverty and obtaining wealth.
Remember, God is not just concerned about your spiritual well being but als about every aspect of our lives.

The problem is not money the problem is the surplus, who gets the surplus.
Churches are coded non-profit.
That means the surplus must be used up.
Its where the surplus goes that tells where the heart is?
For where the treasure is there also is the heart.
The danger is need becoming greed, but seen as need, there is never enough, satiation is not a human virtue, more and better is always prefered to less. With money comes influence with influence comes power.
Power courupts all men.
The power that comes from money, demands more efforts at making more money to keep the money made, it is invasive.
Catholic and Evangelical circles are strewn with the wreckage of those who apropiate the surplus to self seeking causes.
Few escape the eventual influence peddling.

Is it true that Bishop T.D. Jakes pratices baptism in Jesus Name but would never admit to it publickly as the trinitarian influence would sink his tele ministry, and these baptism are done away from the cameras?
