thanks to everyone for your kind comments, and for your contributions of photos. Nina, your pics, the one of the lone tree by the roadside and of the man up in the bush - yes, both those are dear to me and i thank you specially and selfishly for posting them.

these photos tap into our memory of Jamaica and bring forth recollections of what the country has meant to us, how it has shaped us, how it has impacted us. the warmth, openness, brightness, traditions, personalities and all other things and qualities portrayed were present in Marcia in many ways. i like to think that in viewing these pics we are seeing aspects of Marcia and of ourselves, too.
