Let me present something that has always puzzled me about this whole thing that no one has been able to answer for me. When the Babylonians invaded Judah on three occasions, they took away portions of the Judean population on each invasion, the last one being 586 B.C. The great majority of the captives were removed to Babylon and areas beyond where even after they were given permission to return back to their ancestral homeland, many preferred to remain in Babylon and other areas of the then known Persian Empire being that the Persians were favorable to them. Part of that Persian Empire was the area around the Black Sea which would become known as Khazaria, an area settled by descendants of those earlier captives of Jews.

Now, while less attention is paid to them, another group of Jews did indeed escape the Babylonain invasion and made their way to Africa by way of Egypt including the prophet Jeremiah and these are probably the ancestors of Jews in Africa (of which some were there already from earlier migrations). Now, if we want to focus on those Jews as being the "true" Jews simply because they happen to be black, what about those who were removed to Babylon and never came back to their ancestral homeland? Where are they? Where did they go? Who did they become? What about their story? And what about the other Israelites that preceded them who were scattered by the Assyrians in the very same area? Did they just fall off the pages of history in favor of the Jews who fled to Africa? What about those who did take up the offer from the Persians to return back to Israel? Did they stop being Jews and only the African contingent remain Jews?

Dahjah did I not make mention that the Assyrians carried away the other tribes (from the kingdom of Israel)? The majority of them were removed to distant locations in the Assyruan empire and replaced with people that became known as the Samaritans.

Now I am very curious as to why the other Jews who were removed to Babylon and areas in the Mespotamian region is of no concern to you? Were they not black Jews too IF the people they were taken from (as you imply) were black? Why focus only on those who went to Africa and not those who went to Babylon who were of a greater number?

Since I am asking all of that and you mention the Arabian Peninsula being part of the African continent (not disagreeing there), can you please explain something to me? If black people are the true Jews and the Jews as a people or Israel as a people or the Hebrews as a people did not exist until later in history, who were the people living in Africa BEFORE there were any such people known as Hebrews, Israelites or Jews? This would imply that not ALL black people are true Jews since many black people existed BEFORE there were a people known as the Jews.

And by the way Dahjah, I am curious as to where you got the information from that the other 11 tribes went deep into Africa with Abijah? While I certainly think it would be foolish to think Israelites from the Kingdom of Israel might not have migrated to Africa while the kingdom existed OR some did not flee to Africa ahead of the invading Assyrians, I could have sworn most were captured and exiled to the NORTH of Israel.

Ok Dahjah, I see where you get "12" from. You mean 10 tribes, not individuals, went with Abijah and 1 tribe went with Solomon. My mistake, BUT are you sure you are not confusing one story with another? When the united kingdom of Israel split, 10 tribes broke away and sided with Jeroboam as predicted by the prophet Ahijah (II Chronicles 10:15) while 2 remained loyal to Solomon's "house" under his son Rehoboam.

Now all of this took place within the land known as Israel and I do not recall these tribes going anywhere into Africa en mass with any particular leader such as Abijah or Solomon. According to the Kebra Negast, however, Solomon did appoint certain priests and teachers to accompany his son, Menelik, back to Ethiopia, but this was certainly not all the tribes by any stretch.
