Otis Boykin

Otis Boykin invented an improved electrical resistor used in computers - radios - television sets and a variety of electronic devices. Boykin's resistor helped reduce the cost of those products. Otis Boykin also invented a variable resistor used in guided missile parts, a control unit for heart stimulators, a burglar-proof cash register and a chemical air filter.

After graduating from Fisk University and the Illinois Institute of Technology, Otis Boykin worked in a laboratory testing automatic controls for airplanes. He later worked as a consultant for several firms and as a successful inventor. Boykin died of a heart failure in 1982.

Charles Brooks - Street Sweeper Truck

Charles Brooks of Newark, New Jersey invented improvements to street sweeper trucks that he patented on March 17, 1896. His truck had revolving brushes attached to the front fender and the brushes were interchangeable with scrapers that could be used in winter for snow removal. Charles Brook also designed an improved refuse receptacle for storing the collected garbage and litter and a wheel drive for the automatic turning of the brushes and for powering a lifting mechanism for the scrapers. (See patent following page)
Charles Brooks also patented an early paper punch, also called a ticket punch. It was a ticket punchthat had a built-in receptacle on one of the jars to collect the round pieces of waste paper and prevent littering.

as human beings, we benefit from all that man has invented or done to make our lives easier.
This, regardless of race or nationality.

If people knew that black people are as much contributers to who we are today as others, there would be less racial prejudice.

Those are the reasons for which i submit a few facts about black inventors.

I must say tho, that i'm not too fond of the poem.

i have no problems with being black so those complaints wouldn't have come from my lips.
