Yes he did, but that situation is different than what we were talking about earlier in the thread. There was nothing natural about his selection of who to have a child with, it was all arranged, i.e. according to the culture of the day. We are left to conclude that if the child could have been his, he wouldn't have had a problem with it.

BTW, I have always wondered if he had no intention of fathering children under those circumstances, why did he bother sleeping with her?

Oh yeah!! He was a typical man who did not pass up on a romp in the tent, but it cost him his life. Would have been better he did pass that tradition by.

CEW..as a Christian man, what would a typical first date consist of for you? Tell us some of your do's and dont's, if you would. Also...

1.Do you date Non-Christian women?
2.At what stage in the new relationship do you
visit each others home for the first time?
3.Do you have the neck to knee off limits policy?
4.Do you take her to your church?
5.If you don't have kids, do you date women who do?

If these questions are too personal, please to skip them. I just don't recall reading any of your views since you started this thread. You merely responded to comments made.

No it's not.

I remember reading a chapter which spoke particularly about women and marriage. Cant remember which book it was, but it was in the old testament. It was basically saying that young women should get married to prevent them from gossiping, using their mouths to provoke others and get eena mix up. It didn't say that they had to have children.

Maybe a different take on the whole subject...a marriage can "bear fruit" without children being born, can't it? In order to "be fruitful and multiply," does one have to actually have kids? Can one still increase the Christian "family" (through things like missionary work) and fulfil the mandate that way?

Well...considering the whole context of the command, I think it meant multiplying as in people. Hear this...

Genesis 1:27-28
So God created man in His image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and REPLENISH the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Adam and Eve alone could not have dominion over all these creatures. God made it plain when He further told Eve to multiply, as in children, in the 3rd chapter. There were no beings to be multiplied at that time but Adam and Eve. He had already commanded the creatures to multiply and fill the waters and the earth in the earlier verses. Man's command came afterwards and the implication was to bring forth "people", I believe.
