That is a petty reason for a church to break up really. At my church, women wear pants away from church and the knowledge of it is not hidden. We love them same way. Though, my girlfriend has met members in public and they were cordial with her when she has on pants. To me, it's between them and God. It's a personal choice. Because I choose to not wear pants makes me no better than her. In all fairness, her faith is much stronger than mine and I admire her for that.

Ms G in all your getting get understanding. THE LAW WAS OUR SCHOOLMASTER. IT WAS TO GUIDE THOSE UNDER THE LAW UNTIL. Key word UNTIL. Jesus came.

If you read word for word it say TO THE CHILDREN OF ISREAL.
DO you practise everything GOD said in Deut.

All I want to know is if someone can please tell me if bastards (and 10 generations of their children) and men with brusied or no "nuts" can enter god's congregation nowadays as per Deuteronomy 23:1 and 2 because I may be prohibited on both counts if we are still under the law. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] If we are NOT under the law, can I now invite my Sodomite neighbor and a few whores to join up at the local church since they were once barred from being a part og god's congregation as per Deuteronomy 23:17.

Mutty...Yes, they are allowed to go to church sodomites/whores. As TS said, there is hope for them to repent and change.
As to the bastards and bruised nuts (I won't even comment on your admissions), the 4th verse gave the reason why they could not enter in. The understanding too, is the reference was to them not being allowed to enter in as "Priest" not as parishioners. They did not meet the children of Israel with bread/water when they came from Egypt and hired Balaam to curse them. Therefore was this decree given against them. However, who knows if that tenth generation has passed and gone? So you're most likely free to go back to your church. (smile)

i can possibly refer you to a couple of hisorical, non-biblical sources about men's attire in the centuries before christ, or even maybe a couple of movies or two (10 Commandments, e.g.), but then - that's not what this is about, is it?

MS G . dont go. Lets reason. I like yu fire. Now the bible is in two parts OLD will and New will. old covenant New covenant. Jesus lived under the old. A new will cannot take effect until the testator pass away. So christ lived under the old will. Now the new will took effect when christ rose from the dead. AND THAT IS WHAT THE "NEW TESTAMENT" is all about. OLD IS DONE AWAY WITH. No more dove and sheep as sacrifice. ITS ALL JESUS.

MG..usually when I make a statement of what was said or done in the Biblical days, I have scripture to back it up. I merely wanted to see where you got the information that men wore skirts before the Bible was written. Seeing that you are not familiar with the Bible, but you adhere to history books, it is safe to assume this was an assumption. Fair enough. I have news though, it never happened. We see pictures that someone drew and old Bible movies, but the scriptures say that men wore breeches=britches=pants/trousers. No references were given as far as women wearing these said breeches. There are references that women were covered with "veils".
