Shook off the shackels? Not really. More than 30 presidents can trace their ancestry to British royalty. Look at Colin Powell. Do you think an ordinary black man could get that job? He's an illigitimate descendant of King george III.
Bush, Cheney, Gore, Kerry and Hilary Clinton are 'British royalty' as well.
According to Burke's Peerage (not me) it is always the candidate with the most 'royal genes' who wins the election.
That should give you an indication of who runs the USA. Americans are still paying taxes to The Crown.
