Dudley T is , was, a brilliant mind....his contributions r, were, outstanding in many areas inside and outside the Caribbean.....the Manley period is remembered for many reasons , including the audacity to promote true nationalism...but like everything else, personalities came into play and we know from longggggggggggggg practice, people choose self over nation when push come to push..... added to that, the US proved once again to be more crafty at what they could do so well, having had sooooo much practise at what they were doing...
Dudley is one Jamaican who stands out for service from day one , not only in the Caribbean but in the Motherland..... Dudley T for ur valid contributions....

An overdue apology

I have always found 'Uncle' Dudley Thompson a charming but slightly eccentric man. I see that he has now publicly apologised for his infamous Green Bay declaration that "no angels" died there.

Sometime ago David D'Costa researched the whole Green Bay episode with great care and wrote for The Gleaner the definitive article about it. But he was never able to discover conclusively the identity of the person mainly responsible for the whole thing. Now that Uncle Dudley is in a "mea culpa" sort of mood, I wonder if he knows or could tell us who it was who originated that Green Bay business.

What is it in Jamaica now that can be seen as a Dudley Thompson `thing of value` that has impacted positively on lives of Jamaicans as a nation and not as a party?

I`ll go further. What is it that the PNP has done in the past 15 years to suggest Jamaica a better place than before?

The same question for the JLP. What did it do that impacted on society between 1980-1989 that has made Jamaica a better place?

What in the 1972-1980 period that was a standout that has left Jamaicans better off today?

Bearing in mind that some of the things that have been emitted from the mouths of some politicians leaves one to wonder what is `good` from what is `bad`.
