Still nothing from Black River area? Can't help but wonder where that abandoned ship that was beached there is now. What about flooding, etc. Has anyone heard anything. I haven't been able to get through by phone to polic, fire, cell or anything.

Heard from family in Black River = Said not too much damage - Belmont hit hard - looting is bad!
Like there's not enough to worry about!!!!

Any news from the Siloah area in St. Elizabeth? I am very concerned about my friend Dezrene, her children, and granmother. Also, Mr. Cerease, father of her brothers, among them Dane and Wayde.

I have just spoken to my sister in Santa Cruz. The cell phones are back.
Severe damage in Santa Cruz area and Goshen so far as she can see. She is
on her way to the south. Lots of homes without roofs but people are
helping each other. No mention of flooding but most light poles down and
they were driving from Santa Cruz in a SE direction. She said that Goshen
is very badly damaged. I will send out more information as I get it"

Overall, everyone is OK, but there is a report of a death. There is massive damage, but the residents are in good spirits and helping each other.

Just from my family in Ballard's Valley (between Junction and Top Hill) in St. Elizabeth.
Majority of houses have been damaged(roofs blown off and flooding) but from what my auntie said no deaths have been reported. Roads are blocked into town. She said they can not accept calls from outside but they are able to call out now (from cell phone if the battery is still working)
Reported that some people are short on food and water. If my auntie calls again I will update.

aw man. my cousin lives in goshen and their business is in santa. also have elderly relatives living between santa and goshen. i've been calling but not getting through. hope they're okay.

Also in Malvern concerned about Andre Davy and family.

Great Bay haven't heard from Denise Vassell and Akeem Daniel, very concerned I heard two drown there.

STETS cannot be destroyed. It can loose it's roof and suffer damage,but not destroyed.

&W shuts down in Mandeville

Cable and Wireless says it had to shut down the Mandeville Exchange because of flooding.

Cable and Wireless says customers in Manchester and St. Elizabeth will be affected. The company also says its recovery teams will begin restoration work as soon as it is safe to do so.

And Digicel says the electrical outage has affected some of its transmission sites. The company says as soon as engineers and technicians are able to go to the sites, they will refuel the stand by power generators to restore full coverage.
