At 1:00 a.m. July 14, 2003, you left this world and all the pain behind.
I remember getting the email that morning stating that you were gone. I read it but the words didn’t seem real to me. Then I logged on the site and saw that it was indeed a reality. You were gone. I stared at the screen for a long time. In shock. Dumbfounded. In disbelief…I have that email still…and I re-read it sometimes…my reaction hasn’t changed. It is now simply a more real form of shock. You are actually gone.
What a difference a year makes.
Not much.
I still miss you as much.
Still think of you as often.
Still remember our conversations.
Your words of wisdom.
Nuggets of truth.
And yes, even the harsh words at times which I see now were indeed necessary.

You pulled me under your wings
And I reluctantly learned the lessons you taught through your words.
I’m just so sorry I didn’t learn more from you-
Had I known you wouldn’t be around today, I would have kept you up on the computer longer
Learning all that your wise fingers had to teach.

Clowns to the left of me. Jokers to the right.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act but a habit.
Thanks lady. Your contribution to my life was more than you will ever know – more than I ever told you...
A year later and trust me, this is still hard...
Blessings.
