Amanda, I followed my heart to my island, but left there after 3 1/2 years. Yet, my friends there always welcome me back and in the end I kinda wished I had saved it for my retreat rather than trying to live there. So enjoy Atlanta - you are lucky to find a job there! Best of luck in the new job and all the best...
And you can get cheap flights to JA now!

THANKS for all your Support and well wishes!!!

I will definitely miss certain aspects of Jamaica... I think i mentioned in my other post (the music, the fruit trees, the beautiful country-side/beaches, etc.).

I'm sure I will come to visit many times. I have made some good friends and plan to return in November. I believe I was able to make a positive impact but it's time for me to go back b/c my family needs me.

I'm bringing 2 dogs back with me so that should be interesting. I can't believe I'm only bringing about 7 boxes back. I've sold or given away everything. My yard sale went well. I was surprised people didn't really try to bargin with me.. my friends said that my prices were low already. Well I was happy for my things to find a new home.

I had a funny experience last week. I have 1 more puppy to find a home for and ElephantMan actually came to my house to look at my puppy that is for sale. It was strange to see someone like that at my gate.... in his big SUV and mouth full of metal.

Oh and while I was in Atlanta I found there are definitely places for me to go when I am missing Jamaica. I went to the Royal Peacock on a Thursday night and I had a great time. I would recomend it to anyone wanting to hear some good Jamaican music and do some dancing.

Amanda had plenty of good things to say about Jamaica...

BUT...just as you are entitled to your opinion...so is she. What Amanda had to say about Jamaica was the truth...HER TRUTH...Some times the truth is hard to swallow by people that dont see things the same way.

I have been a moderator in this forum since she moved down there...having lived there myself for close to 8 years I can say that EVERYTHING she said about Jamaica and her experiences rang true with me to some degree.

We are all different and all look at life diferrently...therefore experience it differently.

Rather than attack with sarcasm why not try constructive dialog? What is it about Jamaica that you love that makes you stay? I assume you ARE in Jamaica????

J-can, your post in this thread is most un-gracious and if not, NASTY.
Why you bring your envy in here, I do not know.
Amanda has posted on the Board for many years. She has stated her Truths, what she sees in and about Jamaica. I have never seen her being a target for being in a hellhole as you say Jamaica is. I have never seen Amanda and anyone here in any nasty chat.
For you to come in here and distribute your rightful opinion is fine, but to be wishing Amanda good riddance is quite out of order and rude.
Thanks Amanda for your input here on the BB whilst living in Jamaica and before. We hope that you`ll continue dropping in and at least update us on your Jamaican dogs going to Atlanta.
