back in my agnostic/atheist days, it was C. S. Lewis' book Mere Christianity that interested me in reconsidering God as the "something more" i was missing in my life.

Well, I do agree witcha there. I could worship any god I choose, if I go from your list ( and an extensive one at that, some I knew, some I was not even aware of)..including the devil..Unfortunately, I don't have faith in those other gods, nor do I have any faith in the devil. I had an interesting convo with Mulligan when he was here in F&R, who was an athiest (or agnostic [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif[/img]), but who became a believer. I remember asking him a couple of questions regarding his journey from athiest to christian. I was gone fromt he board for awhile, and since I came back, I have not seen him around. i thought of mulligan when i read the original post in this thread....remembered how he "tested" God with his experiments....

my story is a little different as i was raised christian....but didn't really "get it"....walked away cuz i thought it was stupid & spent many years doing things my own way....quite sucessfully too...til i was 48 & God chased me down.

Here's an interesting thing. In Edith Hamilton's book, Mythology in chapter one titled, The Gods, it opens with these words:


The Greeks did not believe that the gods created the universe. It was the other way about: the universe created the gods..."

It was also yours once upon a time.

I agree with Jaith...people have created many many many gods...however God created people.
